Date Night

It was dating time with the husband. For now, it is just us two so we wanna make use of this time to spend more time together.
Cause you know, once there's a baby, its difficult to have date night.
So anyways, Hubby booked tickets for Kumar - What makes a man.
I am so so excited cause its my first time watching a show in esplanade.
First time watching Kumar in action.
I am so so glad I went.
I had a great laugh and I enjoyed every single minute of it!
Here are some pictures.
Ootd.
Black inner and top, maroon jeans, loop from Sahara Shawl, wedges from Rubi and bag from Charles and Keith.
I was actually having trouble wearing the loop from Sahara Shawl. It was my first time and I had no idea how to style the hijab.
So who do I call?
My childhood friend, Ain. The one who introduced me to Sahara Shawl. Lol.
She face timed me just to show me how to style the shawl.
So sweet of her! Thanks Ain!
I also decided to be bold today and had red lippie on instead of my normal nude shade. =)
Of checks and polka dots.
Before heading to Esplanade, we had our late lunch at Fish and Co.
After lunch its off to Esplanade for the show.
Kumar was a hoot! We laughed so much and we both enjoyed every minute of it.
Thank you Hubby for this date night. Looking forward to more dates with you!
xoxo

Simple and easy

I was not supposed to be cooking today but I was so so hungry that I whipped up this dish that you see above in less than 15 minutes.
Grilled dory with spinach and toasted bun at the side.
I just seasoned the dory with salt, pepper and garlic herbs before grilling them.
Mixed whipping cream with lemon zest, salt and pepper as the sauce.
Fried spinach with onions, garlic and chilli padi.
Toasted one bun. (I put it in the toaster for too long thus the colour. Lol.)
And that's that.
Simple kan?

Cooking Mama Part 5

I had leftover spinach risotto from yesterday and I didnt want to cook anything else cause I didnt want to waste food.
So what did I do with the risotto?
I recook them, adding garlic and chilli padi.
I layered the baking dish with risotto and then placed chicken meat on top of it. Then, I added more risotto and sprinkled the top with cheese.
It turns out much better than what i had yesterday!
The Mister even requested that I make risotto again.
Maybe I should.
Apart from risotto, this is also my second time making curry puffs.
The first time i made them, the skin was too tough.
This time round, i made sure to roll them thinner and it turned out well. Alhamdullilah!
Here's my huge curry puff made from scratch!
Someone needs to teach me how to fold them sia!

Cooking Mama Part 4

So this morning, I woke up thinking of what to whip up for the husband.
I googled for easy recipe and wanted to try making cheesy rice with honey glazed chicken.
However, things didnt turn out right. My chessy rice didnt taste right. However, it sorts of taste like risotto!
So, i accidentally made risotto for lunch instead. Lol.
Before picture.
Top: Honey glazed chicken
Below: Spinach Risotto.
After.
Spinach Risotto with honey glazed chicken.
So how? Have you eaten?

Cooking Mama part 3

When we were out yesterday with my in laws, we went marketing. So I decided to buy ingredients to make nutella blossoms.
As usual, it was my first time!
It didnt turn out that well as i feel that the blossoms didnt quite rise. But it's alright as its my first time.
We learnt from mistakes right?
Decided to be a bit creative and make these cute strawberry on the blossoms.
But omg, it is too much work!
One must have plenty of patience doing this.
The aftermath.
See, I told you they didnt rise. =(
As if making the blossoms werent tiring enough, i also had to multitask and cook for the family. What did I cook?
Lontong goreng.
Glad that my family enjoyed my cooking. Alhamdullilah!

Outing with the in laws

At times like this, I wished either the Mister or I has a driving licence so that we can go places easily, but... apekan daya. Not the right time.
Anyhoos, today the Mister and I planned an outing with my in laws and niece.
Havent been dropping by their place that much so this outing sorts of makes up for it. I hope!
So some pictures to share...
OOTD.
My checkered top and flats from BKK, leggings from Uniqlo and shawl by Sahara Shawl.
Makeup theme today is- GLAM. =p
Had so much fun with the family.
The good thing about getting married is that you get an extra set of parents. And thank Allah my in laws are the gerek type.
What about yours?

Cooking Mama 2

So today, i raided the kitchen. Again.
And boy did i cook up a storm!
Today's theme is chinese!
Guess what's cooking?
If you guessed, Hokkien Noodles, you got it right!
What i love about cooking chinese food is that you need not use loads of blended spices like how they do when cooking malay dishes.
This is my first time attempting this recipe which i got from the internet.
And guess what? It turns out wonderfully well, I must say.
The aftermath.
I'm so proud of myself, can? *pats self*
If you think that's all, you are so wrong.
I baked a banana and mars bar cake! Another first.
Look at how the cake rises.
The aftermath after i sprinkled the caramel sauce over the cake.
How now? Can open shop already? Heh.

Cooking Mama

I was in a cooking mama mode once again.
As usual, being a homemaker gets me all busy with cooking and cleaning.
The Mister must been having the time of his life.
Because back when i was working, I seldom cook for him.
This time, i do it every single day.
So today, guess what i cooked?
Shephard Pie!!
But its not the same recipe that i used before.
I tweaked it a little.
Instead of the normal minced meat, i used those shabu patties and i shredded them into pieces.
Instead of the normal mixed vegetable, i used spinach.
And to spice up the dish, i added chilli padi. Yums.
I layered the base with mashed potatoes which i boiled. Sprinkled some cheese before adding the meat and spinach that i saute with onion and garlic and chilli padi.
Then, I added more of the mash potatoes and added more cheese.
Popped them into the oven until the shephard pie is fully cooked and voila!
The baked beans complimens well with the spicy shephard pie and the Mister loves it! Alhamdullilah.
You know what they say, the key to your man's heart is through his stomach.

Short outing

Me and the Mister bought the little girl out for a short trip to Nex.
It was a short trip cause we were without any stroller. And Maya did not have her shoes.
Here are some pictures to share.
Not the first time that we brought a kid out but the first time with a toddler. Me and the husband gotta take turns carrying her.
Maya just refuses to look at the camera.
Here's my favorite picture of us.
I look forward in bringing you out more baby girl.
This time, make sure you ask Mummy and Abah to bring your shoes ok.

Food fiesta

Now that im a home maker, i try to cook every now and then.
Just yesterday, i tried making my own quesadilla. You know the one from Taco Bells.
I had to make it myself cause there's no more Taco Bell in SG anymore. Sad or what?!
Alhamdullilah, even though i know it's not exactly the same as taco bell, it is still yummy and edible.
Today, i made salmon and spinach with chessy potato.
Nura J posted a picture of what she cooked for dinner just the other day and i wanted to try.
Firstly because i love anything salmon and anything cheesy. Secondly, i like to experiment. Thirdly, its so simple to make hokay.
Before i pop them into the oven.
After.
Alhamdullilah. First time and it turn out pretty well. Im glad the husband loves it. And mind you, he doesnt eat salmon ok. The only fish he cooks is stingray!
I am absolutely in love with the creamy sauce that i made from scratch. It came to the point when i told him that i want to make fish and chips tomorrow with the cream sauce.
However, there's only one slice of fish filet left. How to make fish and chips like that?

Sending off

So the day arrived and Nadya, her husband, Gadaffi and her in laws are leaving for Umrah.
I really pray on day it will be my turn, In Sya Allah.
So, right after Zuhur, i left home for the airport. And what do you know? I was the first to arrive. Lol.
My outfit of the day.
I had a normal black long sleeved tee with a black outer that i bought in BKK, my maroon cotton on jeans, stripey maxi hijab, flats from BKK and my Charles and Keith bag.
Fashion tip: If your hijab is colorful and full of design, tone down on the rest of your outfit. Make it simple. Less is more.
Nadya looks amazing in hijab, dont you think?
Same goes for this pretty lady. She said that i look like Shila Amzah. Where got?? Lol.
Sara was also there. I am amazed with her ok. She is a mummy of 3! And she looks so young!
Wa caya sama lu la.
Oh look, Maya is also there.
Did i tell you that Maya had a hard time adapting to me in hijab. Whenever im in hijab she does no want me to carry her. Even though, i put the hijab on infront of her. Geram jer.
But lately, i felt that she is slowly accepting the fact that her Mama is in hijab. She allows me to carry her now. Alhamdullilah!
Yay! Now can bring her out already. ;p
Here's us girls.
Once Nadya is back, we need to catch up again over Badoque, ok?
After we say our goodbyes.
Dear Nadya & Gadaffi,
Congratulations and Umrah Mubarak!

Sundate

I was lounging at home watching telly when i received a text asking to have a meetup.
And i am a sucker for meetups and i love impromptu dates so off i went to get ready to meet up with these beautiful souls.
Ive known them for nearly a decade and they are practically family.
It was just us 4 (me, hubby, nadya & ayu) and few hours later, Gadaffi, Dida, Adik and Maya joined us.
It was cute and so coincidental and everyone was decked in black, white and yellow. Almost coordinate.
Here's Team Yellow.
And here's the black and white team.
Always enjoyed their company.
The one who gave me the impromptu text meetup. Too many histories behind us, kan? Heh.
She's just like a younger sister of mine! She's gonna be a huge star. In Sya Allah.
So, this meetup was because this couple is heading off to Umrah. Masya Allah.
Semoga semua berjalan dengan lancar dan semoga dapat umrah yang mabru'. In Sya Allah.
Doakan untuk i k?

Shoes

I had the spring cleaning mode on and I just went crazy cleaning the shoe cabinet.
I hate the fact that people at home likes to dump their shoes on top of mine, so major changes had to be made.
Rearranged the shoes, threw away some and placed all my shoes neatly on another shoe rack.

Much better!

Alhamdullilah! Maya is so so much better now.
Sucha sweetheart this girl.
She was all chirpy and sweaty once she got back from KKH for her blood tests.
Right after shower, she was playing and rolling around on the carpet.
The next thing I know, when i turned to face her, this is what i saw.
Even the simplest antics makes me smile! Love you baby!
